Timber
The group started its Timber business in 2006, initially setting up its operational base in West Africa i.e. Togo and Ghana to supply Teak (tectona grandis) Wood. After realizing the immense potential of this trade, the group expanded to procure timber from Benin & Nigeria in 2008/2009. With the continuous support received from its valuable suppliers & customers, and keeping in mind the growth potential in this particular segment, the group further expanded to Latin America in 2014 and started its operations in Costa Rica. In the near future, the group plans to expand to other neighboring countries in Latin America as well in its quest for excellence and wider market share.
Such timely expansion has helped the group to get an in-depth knowledge of various other woods as well such as Kosso, G-Melina, Mahogany, and Tali in addition to Teak wood. The group has forged strong alliances in the countries where it sells its timber products, especially in India by getting into joint ventures with reputed processors (saw-millers) of wood. Since the group strongly believes in value addition, it is also producing sawn lumbers which it sells to directly to consumers (building material manufacturers, outdoor and indoor furniture manufacturers, and flooring factories).
Today, the group is one of the leading exporters of timber and timber related products to India, China, and Bangladesh and cherishes its dream of being a one-stop supply chain solution that can pursue its goal of “Commencing the business right from the sustainable harvesting of natural forests & plantations to the delivery of the processed wood to the consumer”.
